Molecular biologist by degree, computational biologist by passion, in my work I combine both approaches to answer questions about non-coding RNA function, inter-species interactions and (co-)evolution. I am particularly interested in the involvement of ncRNA and microbiota in normal development and disease (e.g. cancer, autoimmune diseases and infections).
I obtained a BSc in Biotechnology and MSc in Molecular Biology from the University of Warsaw and a PhD in Genetics from the University of Manchester. During my studies and I gained practical experience with a wide range of experimental techniques on a variety of biological systems. Throughout my career, I was combining the experimental and bioinformatical approaches to answer biological questions that could not be answered by either method alone.
I also enjoy communicating science to other scientists, students and public. I am a volunteer teacher in Polish Saturday School in Bordeaux, Native Scientist project manager for Polish and Wikipedia contributor.
